Labels aren't the problem. Bigotry, hate, ignorance, intolerance are. Blaming the labels only serves to obscure the real reasons for division. No one should have labeled assigned or forced upon them. But choosing our labels, having common language for shared experience, finding community, and demanding that we be respected for who we are is not a bad thing.
